Waterside Community Trust

Temporary Closure

Following the announcement of a four-week lockdown, our Centre will be temporarily closed from Wednesday 4th November at 8.30pm.

We will continue to monitor the situation and are hoping to re-open on Thursday 3rd December. Any updates will be communicated via email as well as our social media @Rydewaterside.

Your membership payments will be FROZEN from 5th November 2020. On re-opening of the centre we will make necessary adjustments to the end date of your current membership.

In other community run Leisure Centres, customers kindly donated their membership during the last lockdown. We didn't take this approach, however if you would like to do this to help support the future of the Centre, we would be extremely grateful. To donate your 4 weeks to support the Centre, please email your membership number and name to with 'Donate' in the subject.

Our billing process has already been actioned for the 1st November and we were unable to stop this. The fees paid will cover your membership when we re-open in December, meaning you will pay nothing more until January 2021.

As above, if you would like to donate your months membership to support the Centre, please email your membership number and name to with 'Donate' in the subject.

Your payments will be frozen from Thursday 5th November 2020. This news is of course a huge blow as all of our swimmers have been doing amazingly since returning.

Please be assured that any money you have paid for forthcoming lessons will be FROZEN and will be held on the swimmers account until our lessons are able to resume again.

We have loved seeing all of your smiling faces back in lessons, and look forward to seeing them again very soon!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff for their innovation and hard work in successfully reopening the Centre in the summer. We feel very fortunate to have been able to reopen as hundreds of swimming facilities throughout the country have sadly not reopened.

We are extremely thankful for your ongoing positive support throughout this period.

We hope to see you all again soon!

Protect the future of the Centre

The Centre when open costs £1,000 per day to run and these costs reduce to around £400 per day during lockdown.

Therefore any fundraising to support the Centre is greatly needed during these unprecedented times.

How can you fundraise?

There are several ways in which you can fundraise for the Centre, which we have outlined below:

Amazon Smile

As a Charity, the Trust has signed up to Amazon Smile. Amazon Smile donates 0.5% of the net purchase price on selected purchases to the charity of your choice. IT DOESN’T COST YOU A PENNY, it just allows amazon to donate on your behalf. To allow amazon to make the donation make sure you shop at this page on Amazon and select Waterside Community Trust as your chosen charity:

Make a donation

You can make a single donation on our website or set up a monthly donation

Set yourself a challenge and fundraise for the Centre in completing your challenge, this could be from a Charity sky dive, distance swim, run, car wash, bake sale, the list is endless.

Leave a gift in your will

You can leave a gift in your will to ensure future generations get to enjoy all that the Centre has to offer to the local community

Own a business? Become a corporate partner

We are always looking for businesses to support the Centre, this can be in several ways. Either by advertising on the exterior of the Centre, sponsoring the staff uniform, with your logo embroidered onto our uniform or by becoming a friend of Waterside, offering discounts to our members.
