Our Lifeguards and Teachers must be vigilant to prevent incidents before they happen. They must be fit and highly trained in rescue and first aid techniques. But more than that, they must be approachable, confident, proactive team players, who are able to interact with the public on a daily basis. It's a challenging but incredibly rewarding role - no two days are the same.

We provide Pool / Beach Lifeguard Courses and Swimming Teacher Courses. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a recognised world wide qualification and work towards having a career in leisure. We also offer apprenticeships on the dry side of the pool as well.

Waterside Community Trust is an approved training centre for the Royal Lifesaving Society and offers a wide range of RLSS courses, with in house tutors with years of industry experience in both pool and beach environments.

To see the effect our team had last year on the beach in particular please see our 2019 Beach Life Saving Stats

When you join our team, you'll develop valuable skills for your CV. As a lifeguard or teacher you will experience situations that require you to think quickly under stress, to take charge and to work closely with other rescuers.

That means you'll develop problem-solving, leadership, communication and teamwork skills that are second to none. Being a Lifeguard or Teacher is a life changing job and certainly a way of life.
