Developing quality stroke technique up to 400 metres, incorporating skills learnt and combining them to develop a linked routine and complete successfully an obstacle course that combines a variety of skills accomplished throughout stages 1 – 7.

CRITERIA for STAGE EIGHT

At this stage children learn quality stroke technique up to 400 metres, combining skills to a linked routine and completing an obstacle course incorporating all skills learnt in stages 1-7.

 

Upon completion of all the above skills confidently your child will have achieved Stage 8 Certificate with other achievements awarded throughout the course.

  • Swim 400 metres continuously using one stroke

  • Push and streamline kick 25 m backstroke with or without board

  • Push and streamline kick 25m breaststroke with or without board

  • Push and streamline kick 25m Butterfly with or without board

  • Push and streamline kick 25m Frontcrawl with or without board

  • Perform backstroke turn from 10m in to 15m out

  • Perform breaststroke turn from 10m in to 15m out

  • Perform butterfly turn from 10m in to 15m out

  • Perform Frontcrawl turn from 10m in to 15m out

  • Perform a dive track or grab start kick butterfly holding position for 5-10m
