CRITERIA for STAGE EIGHT
At this stage children learn quality stroke technique up to 400 metres, combining skills to a linked routine and completing an obstacle course incorporating all skills learnt in stages 1-7.
Upon completion of all the above skills confidently your child will have achieved Stage 8 Certificate with other achievements awarded throughout the course.

Swim 400 metres continuously using one stroke

Push and streamline kick 25 m backstroke with or without board

Push and streamline kick 25m breaststroke with or without board

Push and streamline kick 25m Butterfly with or without board

Push and streamline kick 25m Frontcrawl with or without board

Perform backstroke turn from 10m in to 15m out

Perform breaststroke turn from 10m in to 15m out

Perform butterfly turn from 10m in to 15m out

Perform Frontcrawl turn from 10m in to 15m out

Perform a dive track or grab start kick butterfly holding position for 5-10m
